American Standards is a revived and revamped collection of songs from seminal punk artists that show off the results of mixing uncensored creativity with political unrest. Punk did not deliver a message of anger, but instead one of hope to dig America’s out of economic turmoil in the early 80s. By extracting the raw elements of punk, these songs have been reborn into a new era, where their sound may have faded but their message rings true. By maintaining the integrity of the originals, this compilation stands as a hardcore punk revival with a twist of funky soul.
